The tenor ukulele distinguishes itself from the soprano and concert models by its larger size, which results in a slightly lower tone. It is essential to choose a ukulele made from wood that optimally utilizes these tonal qualities. The Kala KA-TEM is primarily crafted from mahogany, which provides a warm sound with deep bass. The combination of the black body binding and the natural finish contributes to the elegant appearance of this ukulele.
The ukuleles in the Kala Exotic Mahogany Series represent a significant improvement over most entry-level models, without the high price tag of premium models. What makes this series unique is the three-dimensional wood grain pattern, which varies from wavy to symmetrical on each individual instrument. This series is available in soprano, concert, and tenor versions, complete with a convenient carrying bag.
