Description

With her expressive depth and groove-laden rhythms that give each track a dramatic character, Anika Nilles combines overwhelming power with flawless technique; through her unique playing style, she elevates the drum kit to the core of musical expression. Now, her long-awaited signature snare drum is finally available.

During a development and refinement process spanning over two years, Anika focused on three aspects: a deep low end that enhances her expressive range, clear snare wire definition that keeps every note audible – even in the most complex passages – and an appearance that reflects her lifelong love for vintage snare drums.

The shell is made of aluminum, a material known for its warm tone and excellent projection. To accommodate Anika's desire for a powerful low end, a deeper 6.5-inch size was chosen. To give the naturally soft aluminum more rigidity, four beads were placed in the center of the shell and the flanged edge was made a few millimeters wider than usual. This design preserves the natural resonance of aluminum while simultaneously providing exceptional stability.

In combination with Sound Arc Hoops, which focus the fundamental tone, the snare drum delivers a sound that combines a rich low end with excellent projection and clarity, ensuring that every note comes across perfectly.

Another striking feature is the newly developed internal 'Mod-Tone Muffler'. With one simple action, the damper can be engaged or disengaged, and by turning the dial, the pressure is infinitely adjustable; this allows musicians to create a wide range of sounds with just one instrument.

This signature snare drum reflects Anika's versatile musicality and expressive depth. The instrument offers more than just a powerful sound: it is the ideal choice for musicians who want to emulate the complex grooves and rich expression of Anika's artistic style.
